Our Manifesto

Deeper is a sun care brand born in the UAE, formulated for skin of colour.

Most sunscreens weren't made for melanin-rich skin. The white cast, the heavy finish, the purple tint and drying effect aren't minor inconveniences; they're the reason so many of us skip sunscreen altogether.

But for melanin-rich skin, sun care means protection both from burning and from hyperpigmentation / dark spots and barrier damage. These compound over time in ways that are hard to reverse, so we believe in taking a preventative approach.

We formulated Deeper with ingredients that give the right amount of moisture to combat dryness, that strengthen the skin barrier, and that have the highest protection from UVA rays that cause hyperpigmentation. We didn't compromise on the aesthetics either - there's no white or purple cast, no greasy finish, and no pilling under makeup.

Deeper is truly made for skin like ours.

There's a particular kind of frustration that comes from standing in a beauty aisle, scanning shelf after shelf, and realising, again, that you were never really the customer they had in mind. It's even more frustrating to be left out of something that shouldn't inherently be exclusive.

We know that feeling. It's why Deeper exists.

Melanin-friendly isn't a marketing phrase for us. It's a commitment that begins at the beginning of every formulation decision, not at the end. It means that we ask, will this work effectively on skin of colour? And if the answer isn't a resounding yes, we go back to the drawing board.
